Kamata has always seen through the essence of the new technology, and made full use of it in unique ways of representation in various fields.

With representation using a computer, Kamata produced a program called "KUMANO." "KUMANO" has the element of media art, and made interactive image to be realized. Such program was new at the time for museums to be incorporated. With the production of "KUMANO," Kamata received the Public Prize at Multimedia Grand Prix '94 Exhibition Film Field at Siggraph '94 Sigkids Corner Invitation Work. He also won the Second Prize at the New York Festivals 1994 Interactive Multimedia Competition. In the following 1995, Kamata produced an imaginary discussion system "Cyber Agent System," which already used a moving image. He won the Business Prize at Multimedia Grand Prix Theater Exhibition Field in both 1995 and 1996.

The year 1995 was the early period of the Internet. Kamata had already produced an imaginary discussion of a moving image, using TOKYO_LA connected by the Internet. The work was done with the cooperation of NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation), and became a hot topic. That was the time even NTT had the line speed of only 128K.

In 1998, Kamata was in charge of the Japanese version of Internet Explorer's worldwide campaign by Microsoft. Kamata planned an original serial quiz game whose theme is an expedition to the universe. He dealt with the entire work, from scenario making to direction, and made the campaign which was regarded as the most successful one in the world.

In 2000, Kamata started the development of a hot system which uses IC tag for exhibition.

In 2002, Katama challenged a new way of communicative representation for Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims. The representation tells the audience the heart of the Atomic Bomb Victims and their hope for peace through digital contents. He not only collected unprecedented information retrieval system, but also put IC tag into a paper interface of a book, and succeeded in connecting a book and a digital media seamlessly.

In 2004, Kamata combined IC tag and PDA, and put an information provision system to practical use.

In 2005 and 2006, Kamata challenged to a breakthrough of a new form of media communication.

With his high skill, Kamata covers various domains of media communication, from TV program to media art representation.

Also, all the fundamental plans and scenarios of Cyber Network Co., Ltd. are done by Kamata. With his experience, he also works as a consultant. In recent years, Kamata is proposing various unique projects which especially deal with the environment and ecology.
